This is the latest article to argue that the physical power and strength of the modern rugby player is excacerbating the injury rate

Rugby: Modern game not protecting its players, argues expert

CHANGES to the laws of the game and greater vigilance by coaches, referees and administrators may be needed to lessen the risk of serious injury in rugby, according to a leading expert.
Professor Richard Nutton, a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, believes the hazards of playing the sport have grown considerably since rugby union went professional and players became fitter, stronger and heavier.

They said such statements 100 years ago. The modern game is turning into a MMA mix with Football.

Its been a lack lustre competition this year unfortunately.

But it will be great if Scotland can get a result against ireland.

I have to say that it will be a major surprise if any of the 'away' teams win this weekend.

Stephen

I agree with this last comment but do hope that the "Away" teams beat the odds. But head over heart it is a big ask.

Let's hope that all the games are entertaining

P.S. Just packed my passport, Paris street map and confirmed all our bookings

Although I am not particularly Scottish having lived all of my adult life in England's Green and Pleasent Land, having been born there I do have to say that I am glad that  the Scots did at least salvage their honour by this win over Ireland. As the Duke of Wellington said on another occasion, "It was damed close run thing" by the look of the score.

lackluster, that sounds about right. We lost our first match in 2 years and now we lost to Fort Worth last Saturday in the freezing rain blizzard conditions 7-0. That is two games in a row losing and I have to change players diapers and wiping away the tears. Losing hurts when your not use to it but hell move on...

Moving on to the next game regardless if we make it to the playoffs.

Great finish to the weekend, pleased with Wales performance against Italy, and also Scotland's excellent win over the men in green.

Overall a fairly unexciting 6 nations - well done to France on a Grand Slam tho.

Next year - Wales turn again!
