On Feb 5th 2010 and following a hopefully successful ballot i will be a very fortunate and proud Father when my eldest son Lewis, who is 21 will be the candidate for initiation into Brighthelmstone Lodge 8042 (UGLE) at the Sussex Masonic Centre Queens Road Brighton.
I am sure that you will all appreciate just what a special occassion will be for both of us and this will be my first ceremony as the newly installed master of my Lodge.
I will also endeavour to make the evening a special occassion for my son and would ask that if any qualified brother wishes to witness and share this moment with both my son, myself and Brighthelmstone Lodge then i can assure you that you all those duly qualified would be more than welcome to attend .
If so please e mail or PM me and i will gladly provide full details on request.

I would also like to thank you all for your warm and fraternal congratulations on my installation as master of 8042 which has been covered in a previopus thread.

Heres looking forward to a good year in which we have two initiates already and hopefully 4 joining members who are master masons and wishing to progress through office.

Very best wishes and congratulations to you both. You must be very proud. Down here in WA, we have a Fathers and Sons Group (includes sons-in-law) and if there's a lewis being initiated, they will attempt to send a contingent to the Lodge meeting and they make sure it gets covered in our Masonic Bulletin.

Dear Staffs,

I was privileged to witness a Father Initiating his son some twenty odd years ago. The Father, a well respected and well liked Past Master of the Lodge and Grand Officer, was allowed to take the Chair for this special occasion. The memory of it is still vividly with me. As you are the WM, it could not be a more special and moving occasion. My thoughts and best wishes will be with you on that night.

And a very merry Christmas and happy New Year.

Congratulations Staffs,

My dad was JD at my 1st, SD at my 2nd and 3rd and IM at my Installation, and then later when I was Master of my Cambridge Lodge I installed him for his 2nd Mastership of our Mother Lodge.

FM has always been a great bonding experience between us and we do manage to meet as Brothers in Lodge, I hope that you and your son enjoy it together as much as Dad and I do.

Congratulations.
I was lucky to have my father initiate me way back in 1993. A very highly charged occasion.

Several years ago in a Lodge in Sydney, a son initiated his father into the Craft. Son was in his late twenties, and Dad was about 80.

What a great buzz it would have given to both of them!

Enjoy your night, and best wishes.

Cheers
