"For over two hundred years Freemasons' Hall in Great Queen Street, has been the focus of English Freemasonry and of regularly organised Freemasonry which spread from English origins throughout the world.

The Freemasons' Hall, which now stands on the site of the buildings of Thomas Sandby and Sir John Soane, and the treasures which it contains, are symbols of the way in which the Craft of Freemasonry has influenced men's lived over two and a half centuries. Together, the building and its contents constitute a continuing account of the life of the Craft.

This book gives a brief insight into that history and an impression of how it is reflected in the building and its contents. I am sure that the book will appeal to and be enjoyed by every Freemason under the United Grand Lodge of England and to others who are interested in Freemason's Hall and what it stands for.

I congratulate the authors on their enterprise, and commend their work."
